The manufacturing business commenced as Tristar Fencing Australia
Pty Ltd in 1996. Prior to this time the business traded as Duncan
Engineering Pty Limited.
Duncan Engineering was started in 1984 by John Duncan, who is
now a director of Tristar and our chief engineer.
Manufacture of this new post commenced in 1994. Design registrations
and patents have been obtained for Australia, New Zealand and
the United States of America. Various trade-marks have also been
obtained as required.
Design registrations and patents were also obtained for sink
resistant plates in 1998/9. These plates can be used with our Tri-posts,
Vee-posts, and Ramshead posts depending on soil conditions.

In 1998 Tristar commenced manufacturing a new vineyard trellis
post called "Vee-Post" based at our factory in Narangba.
Research and development for a new trellis post had commenced
two years earlier. This new steel trellis post was designed by
vignerons for vignerons.
Patents and design registrations were obtained for Australia,
New Zealand, United States of America and Canada during 1998.
Trade-marks were also obtained.
